Product Overview

The IronRidge UFO (Universal Fastening Object) UFO-CL-01-A1 is a mid clamp. It sits on an IronRidge XR Rail between two neighboring solar panels and holds down the edges of both. When tightened, it holds the panel frames down against the rail.

The clamp also creates an electrical bond, a solid metal-to-metal connection, between the panel frames and the rail. That bond is part of IronRidge's Integrated Grounding System, which is listed to UL 2703 and removes the need for separate grounding hardware at each panel. The UFO comes assembled and lubricated, fits panel frames 30 to 46 mm tall, and is made of 300 series stainless steel in a clear (mill) finish.

Important Considerations

• Check frame height. The UFO fits 30–46 mm frames, but EFO end clamps fit only 30–40 mm. If your panels are taller than 40 mm, check IronRidge's other end-clamp options.
• IronRidge systems only. IronRidge states the UFO is only for installation and use with IronRidge products, following its written instructions. The UL 2703 listing applies to the IronRidge system installed per IronRidge's manuals.
• Follow the installation manual. Torque values, clamp positions and the list of tested panels are in IronRidge's installation manuals. Also follow the panel manufacturer's rules for where clamps may be placed on the frame.
• Grounding lugs. Plan on IronRidge grounding lugs: 1 per row on Flush Mount and Tilt Mount, 1 per array on Ground Mount. IronRidge's manual lists a lug-free option only for certain older Enphase M215, M250 and C250 microinverters. Confirm grounding with IronRidge's installation manual.
• Quantity. This listing is for one clamp. Count one per mid-clamp location in your layout.
