Enphase IQ Gateway (formerly IQ Envoy)
The IQ Gateway is the communications gateway for Enphase IQ microinverter systems. It gathers solar production data (and consumption data when CTs are installed) and sends it to the Enphase App for remote monitoring and maintenance. Choose it when you are building or expanding an Enphase IQ PV system and need the primary gateway. Some Enphase combiners, such as IQ Combiner 6C, already have a gateway built in, so you do not need a separate one there. Enphase IQ Combiner 5 and 6C both include an integrated IQ Gateway; compare them in our combiner boxes. Pair it with IQ8 microinverters and, for consumption metering, CT sensors.
Enphase Communications Kit (COMMS-KIT-01)
The COMMS-KIT-01 is a wireless USB communications kit that links an IQ Gateway or compatible combiner to Enphase storage and backup equipment. Use it only when your Enphase design calls for that wireless link, typically designs built around an IQ System Controller (for example with IQ Battery 5P). It is not a substitute for the IQ Gateway itself. IQ Battery 10C systems use IQ Combiner 6C and IQ Meter Collar instead of a System Controller, so check the Enphase planning guide or call us before adding COMMS-KIT-01 to a 10C design.

Tigo Access Point (TAP)
The Tigo Access Point (TAP) is a wireless radio transceiver that talks to Tigo smart modules and retrofit devices. It improves module-level data and supports secure module-level shutdown when paired with the rest of the Tigo system. TAP is the wireless link at the array, not the cloud data logger.
Tigo Cloud Connect Advanced (CCA) Outdoor Kit
Cloud Connect Advanced is Tigo’s compact data-logging hub. It collects module-level performance data from Tigo optimizers, can connect supported inverters, and supports rapid-shutdown control. Pair CCA with TAP (and the correct Tigo modules) when you need the outdoor logging and control gateway for a Tigo-optimized array. No. Gateways and communication kits move data and control signals between devices and the app. Charge controllers manage battery charging from PV. For charge controller options, call 877-878-4060.
Do I need both Tigo TAP and Cloud Connect Advanced?
Most Tigo module-level monitoring and rapid-shutdown designs use TAP at the array plus Cloud Connect Advanced as the logging and control hub. Follow the Tigo bill of materials for your TS4 optimizer configuration. RSS transmitters and TS4 units are module hardware, not gateways, so they are not listed here.
IQ Gateway (formerly Envoy) vs COMMS-KIT-01: which one first?
