APsmart Rapid Shutdown Solutions
APsmart is the brand brought to us by designers at APsystems. The solutions offer state-of-the-art PV module level rapid shutdown devices that work seamlessly with any new or existing string or central inverter system. The RSD-S-PLC meets SunSpec requirements, maintaining normal function of the PV system by continually receiving a heartbeat signal from the APsmart Transmitter. When no signal is present, the unit executes rapid system shutdown. This solution meets U.S. NEC 2017 & 2020 690.12 Rapid Shutdown requirements. By maximizing APsystems’ proven expertise in module-level power electronics, APsmart solutions are powered by ASIC with internal IP and integrated with TI chips at the system-level application.

APSmart testing kits at a glance
- RSD-Start Kit needs to be linked in the system and tested with a PV Analyzer to test the IV curve and to ensure the components are working properly
- RSD-Eye+ is a small handheld device used to sense pulse modulation from the Power Line Communication (PLC) signal between the Transmitter and the RSD
