Product Overview
The Enphase IQ Meter Collar (model MC-200-011-V01) is a meter-socket adapter with a built-in microgrid interconnection device (MID) and energy meter. It installs between the utility meter and an ANSI Form 2S meter socket, or on a separate meter socket on the load side of the service, and is rated for 200 A continuous current.
In an Enphase Energy System with batteries, the MID is the switch that disconnects the home from the grid during an outage so the Enphase system can power it, then reconnects when the grid returns. Enphase says installing it at the meter lowers the cost of whole-home backup.
Enphase lists the meter collar for use with specific Enphase equipment (see the table). Enphase lists third-party inverter support with the 4th-generation Enphase Energy System.
Best For
- Enphase whole-home backup: Enphase's datasheet lists it with the IQ Battery 10C/10CS and IQ Combiner 6C (4th-generation system), and with IQ Battery 5P, IQ Combiner 5/5C and IQ System Controller 3M (3rd-generation system).
- 120/240 V split-phase homes with a 200 A Form 2S meter socket: Ring or ringless sockets.

What You May Also Need
Usually required
- Enphase battery and controller equipment from the compatibility list: For example, the IQ Battery 10C with the IQ Combiner 6C, or the IQ Battery 5P with IQ Combiner 5/5C and IQ System Controller 3M.
- Control cable: 4-wire signaling between the collar and the Enphase system. Enphase lists an 18/4 TC-ER control cable spool (CTRL-SC3-NA-01) as an accessory.
- Utility approval: The collar installs at the utility meter, so the utility must allow it.
May be required
- Enphase accessory kits: A replacement junction box assembly (ACC-MC-200 for MC-200-011-V01), a jumper cover (JC-MC-200) or a 200 A ringless meter socket (MP-MC-200) for load-side installation.
- A separate meter socket: Needed if the collar is installed on the load side rather than at the utility meter.
Optional upgrades
- Enphase IQ Gateway, Metered (ENV2-IQ-AM1-240): Listed by Enphase as a compatible gateway, for systems that do not already have one.
Check current manufacturer documentation before combining components, especially batteries, inverters, communications equipment and system-control hardware.
Important Considerations
- Check the system generation. Enphase lists IQ System Controller 3M (SC200D111CMC1US01) for 3rd-generation systems. Other IQ System Controller models are not on this datasheet's list, so confirm your controller model with Enphase before ordering.
- Form 2S, 200 A only. The collar fits ANSI Form 2S, 200 A meter sockets on 120/240 V split-phase service. It is not for three-phase or higher-ampacity services.
- Utility rules. Some utilities do not allow meter collars or require their own approval and inspection.
- Professional installation. Installing at the meter requires utility coordination and a qualified electrician.
