Off-Grid Cabin & Homestead
With no utility connection, the system carries the whole load on its own. Start from a complete kit, or build it up part by part.

The off-grid sizing calculator gives you a starting point. A quote request goes to altE's technical team, who check it before anything ships.
How the system fits together
Five jobs a standalone system has to cover. Not a purchase order — compatibility depends on the specific models, not the order you add them to the cart.
- 01 Generate Panels sized against your worst month, not your annual average.
- 02 Control A charge controller, unless your inverter has MPPT built in.
- 03 Store The battery bank — what decides how long you run after dark.
- 04 Convert An off-grid or hybrid inverter to make 120/240 V.
- 05 Back up A generator and transfer switch for the stretch without sun.

Cold-weather charging
Lithium chemistries have a minimum charging temperature. Whether a battery can charge in an unheated building depends on that model's own limits and whether it has internal heating.

Want a second opinion before you order?
Book an hour with a technician to work your loads and parts list through. Browsing and buying never require it.
