The Enphase IQ Battery 10C (ordering SKU IQBATTERY-10C-1P-NA) is a home battery that stores 10.0 kWh of usable energy. It uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells and has four built-in Enphase IQ8B microinverters, so it connects to the home's AC wiring instead of to a separate battery inverter. This is called an AC-coupled battery.
The 10C can deliver 7.08 kVA of continuous power at 240 V (29.5 A), with short bursts of 56 A for three seconds to help start motors. It can also form its own neutral, which means it can supply 120 V loads as well as 240 V loads. Enphase's operating modes include backup, self-consumption (using more of your own solar power) and time-of-use (TOU) savings.
A complete IQ Battery 10C ships in three boxes: two 5.0 kWh battery units (B05-C01-US00-1-3) and one IQ Battery 10C cover kit (B10C-NC-0708-O) with the cover and interconnect cables. For backup power, Enphase's quick install guide says the system requires the IQ Combiner 6C and the IQ Meter Collar.

- Enphase IQ Combiner 6C: Enphase lists the IQ Combiner 6C for use with the 10C, and its quick install guide says the system requires the IQ Combiner 6C for backup. A combiner is the box where the solar and battery circuits come together.
- Enphase IQ Meter Collar: Enphase's quick install guide says the system requires the IQ Meter Collar for backup. Enphase says it installs between the utility meter and the meter socket, or on a separate meter socket pan on the load side of the utility service.
- Enphase IQ Microinverter solar system: Enphase's IQ Battery 10C system-planning guide lists IQ Series Microinverters for direct connection to the IQ Combiner 6C. Enphase says M Series and other legacy microinverters are not compatible with the IQ Combiner 6C; check the guide for how older systems can be connected. If you are building a new system, choose single-phase IQ Series Microinverters selected for your system.

- IQ Battery 10C Pedestal Mount: For floor mounting instead of wall mounting. Enphase sells it separately (B10C-PI-0550-O).
- Breakers and wiring: A 40 A breaker and 8 AWG minimum wire for one battery, or an 80 A breaker and 4 AWG minimum for two or more, per Enphase. Follow electrical code.
Optional upgrades
- More IQ Battery 10C units: For more storage and power. More than two 10C batteries on one 4 AWG circuit with an 80 A breaker requires a Power Control System setting (IQ Battery Oversubscription), per Enphase.
Check current manufacturer documentation before combining components, especially batteries, inverters, communications equipment and system-control hardware.
Important Considerations
- Backup needs the IQ Combiner 6C and IQ Meter Collar. Enphase's quick install guide says the system requires both for backup operation.
- Don't mix with the IQ Battery 5P. Enphase's IQ Battery 10C system-planning guide (June 2026) says the 10C is not compatible with the IQ Battery 5P. Enphase says 5P compatibility is planned for the future. Check Enphase's current documents before combining batteries.
- Clearances. Leave at least 4 in on the sides and top (per the UL 9540A evaluation); Enphase recommends 8 in for easier service and 15 in in front.
- Location. Enphase says to choose a non-habitable indoor space (such as a garage) or an outdoor spot within −4°F to 131°F and 5–95% humidity, non-condensing. Avoid direct sunlight. Charging slows below 59°F and above 113°F; discharging slows below 32°F and above 122°F.
- Heavy. The finished battery weighs 317 lb installed. The wall must hold that weight, or use the pedestal mount.
- Arrives partly charged. Enphase typically ships the 10C at 20–30% state of charge for safe shipping.
- Installation and permits. Install to electrical code, local rules and Enphase's quick install guide. Battery systems usually need a permit and an inspection by your Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
