Product Overview
The Tigo Access Point (TAP) is a wireless mesh radio that talks to Tigo TS4 units on the modules and passes their data to a Tigo Cloud Connect Advanced (CCA). Tigo orders it as 158-00000-02, "TAP, in Honeycomb Packing".
Tigo's TAP datasheet lists TAP for use with TS4-A-O, TS4-X-O, TS4-A-S and TS4-X-S. It says TAP enables wireless module-level monitoring and wireless module-level rapid shutdown, and provides grid status to TS4 MLPE. TAP mounts on the module frame without tools and draws power from the CCA over an RS485 cable.
Best For
- Tigo TS4-O and TS4-S arrays monitored through a CCA: TAP is the wireless link between the array and the CCA.
- Larger or spread-out arrays: Tigo says to use multiple TAPs when TS4 distances exceed its limits.

What You May Also Need
Usually required
- A Cloud Connect Advanced (CCA): TAP connects to the CCA for cloud monitoring. See the CCA Outdoor Kit, which includes one TAP.
- RS485 communication cable: Not provided by Tigo.
May be required
- Additional TAPs: For distance, obstructions or unit count beyond Tigo's limits.
- Other monitoring hardware: See monitoring & control.
Optional upgrades
- Other gateways: See gateways & communication.
Check current manufacturer documentation before combining components, especially batteries, inverters, communications equipment and system-control hardware.
Important Considerations
- Not an RSS transmitter. Tigo Fire Safety TS4-A-F and TS4-A-2F use a Tigo RSS Transmitter (or an inverter with a built-in Tigo certified transmitter) for rapid shutdown.
- Placement. Tigo says to position TAPs in the center of each array. Treat a height change of more than 3 ft (1 m) as an obstruction. Do not place the TAP inside an attic or any object that is not the module or racking.
- Licensed work. Install to the NEC edition your AHJ has adopted and the maker's current installation instructions.
