Product Overview
The RUiXU Lithi2-16 is a 16 kWh, 48-volt-class lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery in a single floor-standing cabinet. It runs at 51.2 V nominal with 314 Ah of capacity. It connects to a 48 V battery inverter or hybrid inverter, which charges it from solar, the grid or a generator and turns its DC power into AC power for the home.
The cabinet has four built-in heavy-duty wheels for moving it into place and a 5-inch touch screen that shows battery information and settings. A built-in heater keeps the cells warm enough to charge in cold weather. Inside, a fuse on the negative side and a breaker on the positive side protect the battery. RUiXU also lists a gas aerosol fire-protection module for the battery.
Best For
- Home backup: Store energy for use during utility outages as part of a properly designed backup system with a 48 V inverter.
- Off-grid homes and cabins: Store daytime solar power for use at night, sized for your loads and inverter.
- Large storage in one box: 16 kWh per cabinet, expandable to 32 units in parallel (about 512 kWh) for larger homes or small commercial buildings, per RUiXU.
- Cold garages and outdoor sites: The self-heating feature lets the battery charge in cold weather, and the cabinet is rated IP55. RUiXU recommends a rain shelter and sunshade outdoors.

What You May Also Need
Usually required
- Low-voltage (48 V-class) battery inverter or hybrid inverter: Turns the battery's DC power into AC power and charges the battery. For closed-loop communication, check RUiXU's inverter compatibility list for your inverter model.
- Battery-to-inverter cables: Not included. RUiXU says inverter cables come in a separate external cable kit (2 m / 6.6 ft orange and black cables). If you use other cables, size them for the current and the length of the run. RUiXU rates each power cable and terminal for 200 A continuous and recommends keeping the run under 10 m (32.8 ft).
- Two-pole breaker or disconnect: RUiXU's manual calls for a 2-pole circuit breaker that isolates both the positive and negative wires between the battery and the inverter. Size it to electrical code and the inverter's manual.
May be required
- More Lithi2-16 batteries: For more storage or more continuous current. RUiXU lists up to 32 units in parallel.
- Busbar: RUiXU's manual says to use a busbar when connecting several Lithi2-16 units in parallel to the inverter.
Optional upgrades
- Sunshade or rain shelter: For outdoor installs, RUiXU strongly recommends a cover above the battery to keep off direct sun and rain.
Check current manufacturer documentation before combining components, especially batteries, inverters, communications equipment and system-control hardware.
Important Considerations
- Very heavy, and it must be secured. About 302 lb. Use the wheels to move it into place. Then, per RUiXU, secure it to the wall with the included hold-down brackets and lock the wheels. Leave at least 50 mm (about 2 in) between the battery and the wall, 150 mm (about 6 in) at the sides and front, and 30 cm (about 12 in) above for cables.
- Inverter settings. Use RUiXU's recommended settings for your inverter brand and model, listed in the manual's inverter table. For Sol-Ark and Deye, RUiXU recommends 56.0 V absorption and 54.6 V float. Also select your inverter brand on the battery's touch screen.
- Cold-weather charging. RUiXU's manual limits charge current at low temperatures. For example, it allows only 10 A of charge current below 32°F (0°C).
- Outdoor use. The cabinet is IP55. RUiXU recommends adding a rain shelter and sunshade outdoors.
- Installation. Install to electrical code and local rules. Battery systems usually need a permit and inspection by your local code office (AHJ).
