Product Overview
The APsmart 408006 is the Single Core Transmitter-PLC Outdoor Kit with an 85–264 VAC power supply. APsmart says the kit includes a Transmitter-PLC with one core, an outdoor enclosure and the power supply.
While powered, the Transmitter-PLC sends a signal to APsmart RSD units that keeps their PV modules connected. When the transmitter is switched off, the RSD units enter rapid shutdown, and they resume when power returns. APsmart's Outdoor Kit datasheet says the kit meets NEC 2017, 2020&2023 (690.12) requirements and SunSpec requirements.

- Conduit fittings: APsmart says the enclosure is not punched before delivery. The manual gives drilling guides for 3/4" and 1" conduit.

Check current manufacturer documentation before combining components, especially batteries, inverters, communications equipment and system-control hardware.
Important Considerations
- Same AC branch circuit. APsmart's user manual says the power supply of the Transmitter-PLC and the inverter MUST be on the same AC branch circuit to meet rapid shutdown requirements.
- Core routing. Pass either both positive or both negative cables through a core, never one of each, and follow the core diagrams in APsmart's current user manual.
- Install order. APsmart says to install the RSD-S-PLC units before powering the Transmitter-PLC.
- Inverter list. For inverters with an integrated SunSpec-certified transmitter, check the APsmart Compatible Inverters list (apsmartglobal.com), viewed Oct 8, 2026; no revision number.
- Inverter pairing. Do not assume a specific string inverter, hybrid inverter or microinverter model is listed. Check the maker's current certified list and the document revision or view date before design.
