Product Overview
The S-5! S-5-E clamp is a non-penetrating clamp for double-folded standing seam metal roofs. S-5! says it is designed for traditional 1" and most 1.5" tall European-style double-folded seams in zinc, stainless, aluminum and coated steel.
Two round-point T-30 Torx setscrews tighten against the seam. S-5! says the setscrews dimple the seam material but do not penetrate it. Rails or other equipment attach with the included M8 bolt.
S-5! also lists Butler's MR-24 among the roofs the S-5-E fits. This listing is the standard S-5-E with two setscrews, not the one-setscrew S-5-E Mini.

- A screw gun and a dial-calibrated torque wrench: S-5! says not to use a clicking torque wrench for setscrew tension.

Important Considerations
- Copper roofs excluded. S-5!'s brochure says the S-5-E suits most common metal roofing materials excluding copper.
- Match the clamp to the seam. S-5! says load capacity varies with load direction, seam profile, roof material and clamp model. Confirm your seam type and gauge before relying on load values.
- Setscrew torque depends on the roof. S-5! gives one torque range for 22-gauge steel and a lower one for other metals and thinner steel. Verify tool tension periodically.
- Positioning. On machine-folded seams, S-5! says the setscrews go opposite the seam fold.
- Moving a clamp. S-5! says clamps may be moved after initial misplacement, but it expresses no opinion on performance after removal and reinstallation.
- Engineering is your responsibility. S-5! says the user or installer is responsible for all engineering and design, including spacing. S-5! publishes load test results on its website for load-critical designs.
