Product Overview
IronRidge QuickMount Lynx (QM-LYNX-SS-M1) is a non-penetrating clamp for standing seam metal roofs. IronRidge designed it for use with IronRidge open-slotted L-Feet and IronRidge rails. The technology is licensed by S-5!.
Two pre-assembled oval-point set screws clamp the seam. IronRidge says the oval points allow adjustment and reseating without damaging the roofing, and no roof penetrations are required.
An open-ended T-slot on top gives about 2" of north-south adjustment for sliding the L-foot into line with the rail. The included hex bolt and serrated flange nut secure the L-foot, which is sold separately.
Best For
- Standing seam roofs with seams at least 1.0" tall: IronRidge says Lynx fits folding and snapping standing seams. The seam must be at least 1.0" tall and no more than 0.5" wide.
- IronRidge XR Flush Mount systems: Lynx is listed as a metal roof attachment in IronRidge's XR Flush Mount manual. Pair it with the IronRidge Slotted L-Foot (mill) or black.
- Roofs that should not be penetrated: The set screws grip the seam without piercing the panel, per IronRidge.

- IronRidge XR rails and bonding hardware: IronRidge says to secure compatible rails to each L-foot with the racking manufacturer's approved bonding hardware.
- An impact driver with a 3/16" hex bit and a 1/2" socket: Listed in IronRidge's Lynx and XR Flush Mount manuals.
May be required
- A string line: IronRidge suggests running one between the outermost attachments to keep the clamps and rail straight.
- Module clamps and grounding: See roof mounts.

- Other metal roof attachments: For exposed-fastened or corrugated roofs, see metal roof mounts.
Check current manufacturer documentation before combining components, especially batteries, inverters, communications equipment and system-control hardware.
Important Considerations
- Check the seam before ordering. IronRidge's Lynx manual shows compatible and incompatible profiles. Seams under 1.0" tall or wider than 0.5" are outside its stated range.
- Seat the block fully. IronRidge says to make sure the block is fully seated on the seam, then torque the set screws, alternating between them.
- Other racking needs engineering. IronRidge says Lynx can support other racking platforms only with additional engineering.
- Engineering and permits. Attachment spacing, rafter or deck requirements and load capacity are project-specific. Use IronRidge's design tools and stamped certification letters, and install under local building codes.
