Product Overview

IronRidge CAMO (CAMO-01-M1) is a hidden end clamp for IronRidge XR rails. It secures and bonds the end of a module while sitting under the module, so no clamp shows at the array edge.

IronRidge says CAMO installs without tools or torque specifications. It slides into the rail channel, and the handle rotates upward until CAMO snaps into the channel. Its bonding pins seat on top of the module frame.

IronRidge says CAMO is not intended for islands or near the coast. Installs in those regions are not covered by the IronRidge Product Warranty (see Important Considerations).

Best For

  • A clean array edge on IronRidge XR rails: IronRidge's manual allows CAMO in place of EFO or UFO with a Stopper Sleeve.
  • Modules whose bottom flange fits CAMO: IronRidge's frame diagram gives a bottom-flange thickness of 1.2 to 2.2 mm and a flange length of 15 to 40 mm.
  • Arrays using UFO mid clamps: IronRidge's manual pairs CAMO at the ends with UFOs between modules. See the UFO, black or clear.

What You May Also Need

Usually required

  • UFO mid clamps between modules: black or clear.
  • A grounding lug: IronRidge's manual shows CAMO in the ground path. Its grounding section says only one grounding lug (rail or module) is required per continuous subarray, regardless of size, unless modules are frameless. Its electrical diagram says one per row.

May be required

  • EFO end clamps instead of CAMO: IronRidge's manual fastens row ends with EFO (or a UFO with a Stopper Sleeve) and gives CAMO as an option to use instead of EFO. IronRidge lists EFO for 30 to 40 mm frames. See EFO, black or mill.

Optional upgrades

Check current manufacturer documentation before combining components, especially batteries, inverters, communications equipment and system-control hardware.

Important Considerations

  • Coastal and island sites. IronRidge says CAMO is not intended for islands, or within 3 miles of a coastline or 2 miles of saltwater bays and inlets. CAMOs installed there are not covered by the IronRidge Product Warranty.
  • Check the frame flange. CAMO grips the module's bottom flange. IronRidge says to be sure the specific module meets the dimension requirements, and to see its online Design Assistant for module-maker-specific compatibility.
  • Seat the pins. IronRidge says to ensure the bonding pins are fully seated on top of the module frame.
  • Engineering and permits. IronRidge says actual spans and cantilevers are defined by PE-stamped certification letters. Use IronRidge's Design Assistant and install under local codes.
