Product Overview
IronRidge T-Bolt Bonding Hardware (BHW-TB-03-A1) attaches an IronRidge XR rail to a roof attachment and bonds the two. IronRidge also offers a square-bolt version; this listing is the T-bolt.
The kit is a 3/8-16 custom T-bolt with a serrated bonding nut, both 300 series stainless steel. IronRidge says the nut uses the same 7/16" socket as the rest of the system.
IronRidge's manual notes that T-bolts can be carried onto the roof with the rail and placed as you go. Square bolts must be slid into the rail's side slot ahead of time.
Best For
- Rail-to-attachment connections on IronRidge XR systems: IronRidge says bonding hardware attaches and bonds the rail to roof attachments.
- Installs that use one socket: The bonding nut takes the same 7/16" socket as UFOs and EFOs, per IronRidge.

What You May Also Need
Usually required
- An IronRidge-approved roof attachment: For example an L-foot-style attachment or tile hook from IronRidge's XR Flush Mount manual. See roof mounts.
- A torque wrench and 7/16" socket: Torque to the value in IronRidge's instructions for your attachment.
May be required
- Kit quantity: Plan quantities from the steps for your roof attachment in IronRidge's XR Flush Mount manual. How the rail connects to the attachment differs by attachment type.
Optional upgrades
- Other XR racking parts: See solar panel mounts.
Check current manufacturer documentation before combining components, especially batteries, inverters, communications equipment and system-control hardware.
Important Considerations
- Check the torque for your attachment. IronRidge's XR Flush Mount manual, FlashFoot2 manual and BX manual give different torque values for 3/8" bonding hardware. Follow the document for the attachment you are using.
- Rail joints. IronRidge says bonding hardware must be installed 1" away from the point where two rails join.
- Reuse. IronRidge's manual says components have been evaluated for multiple use unless otherwise noted.
- Engineering and permits. IronRidge says actual spans and cantilevers are defined by PE-stamped certification letters. Use IronRidge's Design Assistant and install under local codes.
