Limits to know before you choose
- The SUNON inverters are indoor-only (IP20) off-grid inverters. This bundle does not promise utility export, battery-free operation, a guaranteed runtime or whole-home coverage.
- No battery is included. These panels and the inverter are for customers who already own a suitable RUiXU battery bank; confirm the bank with the manufacturer's documentation before you order.
- The array layout is preliminary. String sizing for your site, lowest temperature and the exact module revision need review before you buy racking or wiring.
Who it suits and which loads to check
Customers who already own a suitable RUiXU battery bank and need the panels and the inverter.
List the loads you want to power, then check them against the inverter’s published rating before ordering. In particular check:
- Continuous and starting (surge) power of motor loads such as air conditioners, well pumps and compressors.
- Load on each 120 V leg of a split-phase service, not only the total.
- Your solar and charging sources, and how the system is charged when the sun is not enough.
altE does not publish a guaranteed runtime, promise utility export or battery-free operation, or claim this bundle powers a whole home. A technical support call can review your load list.

Nominal energy is the battery’s rated size. Usable energy is what the manufacturer says can be drawn under its test conditions, measured inside the battery. Energy delivered to appliances is lower. These are different numbers and altE does not substitute one for another. Rated inverter power is a continuous output rating; what the system can actually supply depends on the inverter, battery, voltage, temperature and configuration.

Electrical and power
Published by manufacturerTen panels in series are about 385 V open-circuit at 25 C and about 429 V at -20 C (calculated from the published Voc and its -0.25 %/C coefficient), under the inverter's 500 V limit; about 321 V at maximum power under standard test conditions, inside its 90 to 450 V MPPT range. A preliminary layout is two strings of ten, one per solar input (4,400 W per string against up to 12,000 W and 32 A per input on the SUNON12). Other layouts need review. These are altE calculations from published figures, not an array design. Your lowest site temperature, the exact module revision and the manufacturers' string-sizing rules decide.

System certification
Open: to be specifiedRUiXU's page lists UL 1741 for the SUNON12; altE has not read the certificate. The rapid shutdown arrangement for the array and any listing your installation requires are not established.
Installation requirements
- Electrical installation must follow the manufacturers' manuals and local code, and be done or reviewed by qualified personnel.
- The SUNON inverters are rated IP20 for indoor use only. Plan an indoor, dry location with the clearances in the manual.
- You will need AC conductors and breakers, disconnects, grounding and bonding, labels, anchors and a load-panel design for your site. None of these is in the bundle.
- Motor starting, air conditioning, well pumps, per-leg loads and any generator connection need to be checked against the exact inverter before you rely on this bundle for them.
- For the solar array you will also need racking, string wiring with matched connectors, DC disconnect and protection, and a rapid shutdown arrangement where code requires one.
