This unit was purchased for a remote cabin. I needed a simple, concise way to communicate when the generator needed to be started, for those people that could care less about running the batteries down too far. The meter draws so little power it can be left on the entire time cabin is inhabited, and is mounted at eye level next to the door. 10-100%, with color coded LEDs. It doesn't get any more simple than that.

While I would have been happier with a digital volt meter, the cabin is inhabited by people that mostly don't care, (because they didn't pay for the yellow-top batteries) and just want the lights to work. This meter is perfect for that, and conveys the information in the simplest way possible.

The only instructions given are "When it hits red, start the generator. It'll jump to 100% immediately. That means the battery is charging. When the generator runs out of gas, [2 hours later..it's got a small gas tank] you're charged."

It doesn't get any simpler than that.

I purchased this product a while ago and it works well. This product helps understand the state of the battery voltage without having to memorize the different voltage levels and where the battery state is at. I can tell with just a glance what the battery charge is. Also so far it seems reliable. The price of this unit was a little higher then I would like however it is work the cost for a simple display, and everyone in the family can read and understand this display. I like this product.

This voltage monitor wast of money ! It does not give a accurate reading ! With a full charge (12.8 VDC)the meter only reads 50%. Even right after removing from charger with 13.3 volts the unit only reads 70%. There is no provision to calibrate the unit. I also purchased a ASC Mark15-12 unit with display and LED bar graph. The ASC bar graph worked perfectly. I would get a digital voltage meter display for monitoring battery. This unit needs to be redesigned by B.Z Products. I would not purchase anything made by them after getting this meter. When I called the company they were not vary helpful and tried to say that nothing was wrong with the meter !
