Product Overview
This listing is a full pallet of 32 HD Hyundai HiS-S410YH(BK) solar panels. Each panel is rated 410 watts, so the pallet adds up to 13,120 watts (about 13.1 kW) of panel power at standard test conditions. HD Hyundai ships this model 32 panels to a pallet.
Each panel turns sunlight into DC electricity, which an inverter then converts into AC power for a home or building. The HiS-S410YH(BK) is part of HD Hyundai's YH "Dual Black Max" series. It uses 132 half-cut mono PERC cells (a common type of monocrystalline silicon cell) and is bifacial. Bifacial means the back of the panel can also collect some light, such as sunlight reflected off the ground. The front is 3.2 mm tempered glass, and the back is a black meshed transparent film, which gives the panel an all-black look.
Each panel measures about 75.7 × 40.9 inches and weighs about 46.5 lb. Module efficiency is 20.5%.
Best For
- Homes where appearance matters: HD Hyundai's residential datasheet describes the YH series as a full-black design for residential use.
- Commercial projects: HD Hyundai also publishes a commercial datasheet that lists the same YH(BK) models for commercial and utility applications. Note that the product warranty term is different for commercial use (see Important Considerations).
- Installers and larger projects buying a full pallet: 32 matching panels (about 13.1 kW) arrive together, which keeps every panel in a string the same model, as HD Hyundai's installation manual requires.
- Raised or ground-mounted arrays: When light can reach the back of the panel, the bifacial design can add some output. HD Hyundai's rear-gain table shows 431 W at 5% rear gain and 472 W at 15%. Actual rear gain depends on the site.
Key Features & Specifications
| Specification | Details |
|---|---|
| Product type | Bifacial mono PERC solar panel, full black (YH "Dual Black Max" series) |
| Model / manufacturer part number | HiS-S410YH(BK) |
| Quantity in this listing | 32 panels (one pallet); 13,120 W total at STC |
| Rated power (STC) | 410 W per panel. STC (Standard Test Conditions) is the lab test used to rate every panel the same way. |
| Power class sorting | 0 to +5 W above the 410 W rating (measurement uncertainty ±3%) |
| Module efficiency | 20.5% |
| Open-circuit voltage (Voc) | 45.90 V at STC. This is the panel's voltage with nothing connected. It goes up in cold weather, so use the cold-temperature value when checking inverter voltage limits. |
| Short-circuit current (Isc) | 11.40 A at STC; 12.32 A at the BNPI rating; 14.25 A at 25% rear-side gain (HD Hyundai's rear-gain table). Use these to check inverter and microinverter current limits. |
| Voltage / current at max power (Vmpp / Impp) | 38.1 V / 10.76 A |
| Bifacial rating (BNPI) | 440 W (Isc 12.32 A), measured with extra light on the back of the panel (135 W/m² rear, 1,000 W/m² front). Real rear-side gain depends on the site. |
| Temperature coefficients | Pmax −0.347%/K; Voc −0.268%/K; Isc +0.032%/K. Power drops a little as the panel heats up, and voltage rises in the cold. |
| Solar cells | 132 (6 × 22) mono PERC half-cut bifacial cells |
| Maximum system voltage | 1,500 VDC |
| Maximum reverse current | 20 A |
| Nominal module operating temperature | 45.5°C ±2°C |
| Operating temperature | −40°C to +85°C |
| Maximum test load | 5,400 Pa front / 5,400 Pa rear (follow the installation manual for mounting) |
| Fire performance | Type 1 |
| Construction | Front: 3.2 mm full-tempered solar glass with anti-reflective coating. Rear: weatherproof film (black meshed transparent). Anodized aluminum alloy frame. |
| Junction box; connector | 3-part junction box, 3 bypass diodes, IP68; genuine Stäubli MC4 connectors |
| Output cables | 1,200 mm (47.2 in) positive and negative |
| Dimensions (each panel) | 1,924 × 1,038 × 32 mm (75.7 × 40.9 × 1.3 in) |
| Weight (each panel) | 21.1 kg (about 46.5 lb) |
| Certifications | UL 61730; IEC 61215 hail test with 40 mm hailstones (Kiwa PVEL) |
| Warranty (US residential) | 25-year product warranty (materials and workmanship). 25-year performance warranty: at least 98% output in year 1, then no more than 0.54% loss per year, with 85.0% guaranteed at year 25. |
What You May Also Need
Usually required
- Inverter or microinverters: Converts the panels' DC power to AC. Choose a string inverter, or microinverters, whose datasheet input voltage and current limits fit this panel's Voc (45.90 V at STC, higher in cold weather) and Isc (11.40 A at STC, higher with rear-side gain). Not every inverter or microinverter fits every panel, so check each model's limits.
- Roof mounts or ground mounts: Rails, attachments and module clamps hold the panels. The current datasheet lists a 32 mm frame (earlier versions 35 mm); check your panels before choosing fixed-height clamps. Mounting hardware is sold separately.
- PV cables: Extension cables carry power from the array to the inverter or combiner. These panels use Stäubli MC4 connectors, so check the connector type on any cable you add.
May be required
- Rapid shutdown devices: Systems on buildings generally must meet NEC rapid shutdown rules (section 690.12), depending on the code edition your area uses. Some inverter systems include this, and others need separate devices.
- Disconnects and breakers: Required by code in many systems to safely isolate the array and inverter.
- Grounding hardware: HD Hyundai's manual says the frames must be grounded with 4–6 mm² (10–12 AWG) wire and suitable grounding lugs, or through a UL 2703 listed racking system.
Optional upgrades
- PV cable clips: Hold panel leads neatly along the frame and keep them off the roof surface. Check that the clip's frame-thickness range fits this panel.
- Battery storage: Adds backup power or lets you use more of your own solar power. Storage can be DC-coupled (a battery with a hybrid inverter) or AC-coupled (a battery with its own battery inverter). Either way, choose the battery and inverter to work together for your system and check both manufacturers' compatibility lists.
Check current manufacturer documentation before combining components, especially batteries, inverters, communications equipment and system-control hardware.
Important Considerations
- Sold as a full pallet. This listing is 32 panels. Make sure you have space and a way to unload and store a full pallet, and check that your roof or structure can carry the array.
- Warranty depends on the application. HD Hyundai's US residential limited warranty (valid from July 1, 2024) covers the YH(BK) series with a 25-year product warranty. HD Hyundai's commercial datasheet lists a 12-year product warranty for commercial and utility projects. The 25-year performance warranty is the same on both datasheets.
- Cold-weather voltage. Voc rises as temperature drops (−0.268%/K). When wiring panels in series, calculate string voltage at your site's coldest temperature so it stays under the inverter's limit and the 1,500 V module limit.
- Wiring rules from the manual. All panels in one series string must be identical in output and type. Do not connect panels directly in parallel without a combiner box. HD Hyundai's manual says to size fuses at Isc × 1.56, according to the NEC.
- Bifacial rating vs. STC rating. The 440 W BNPI figure assumes light on the back of the panel. Size your system and production estimates from the 410 W STC rating unless you have a site-specific estimate of rear-side gain.
- Mounting. HD Hyundai's manual says each panel must be fixed at a minimum of 4 points and the mounting design must be certified by a registered professional engineer. The 5,400 Pa figures are test loads, so follow the manual's mounting instructions.
- Handling. HD Hyundai's datasheet says only qualified personnel should install or maintain the panels, and warns of dangerous high DC voltage. It also says not to damage or scratch the rear surface, and not to handle or install panels when they are wet.
