XW Hybrid Inverter

XW Hybrid Inverter

I see the Xantrex hybrid inverter says it is a inverter and charger.  In the manual it shows the system with and without the solar charge controller.  What is the difference between the charger in the XW unit and the solar charge controller?

inverter/charger means inverter and AC charger.  a charger that takes an AC input,(grid or generator) and can charge a dc battery bank. 

a solar charge controller is a different animal and is not included in any inverter we sell.  this is mainly because the inverter company would not know what array you had and solar charge controlling deals with the batteries, not the inverter.
