Great Attic Fan! by Len Mason
Date Added: December 27, 2006
This was my first solar-powered item purchase. I have to say that as soon as I took the fan out of the box, I pointed the panel at the sky and the fan began to move quite quickly! I was very impressed. We live in a townhome community, and we had some restrictions on the height of the fan with the panel extended. But even with the panel flat, we catch enough sun to keep our home comfortable.

We installed 2 units and are very pleased with the results.
Am surprised at how little sun is needed for them to run.

Good product. It has been running for over a year with no problems. Directions received were for a different fan but easy to figure out the necessary changes to make it fit.

Easy to Install Attic Fan by Kristen Hagerty

We installed the attic fan with 10 watt solar panel on a slightly pitched roof in central Massachusetts in June. We were able to follow the included instructions easily, and the fan worked immediately once exposed to sun. Total installation about 1-2 hours. I do recommend the thermal switch if you plan on not letting it run continuously through the winter time. The fan operates noiselessly and we could see a difference in temperature of the upstairs apartment within the first couple of days!

Solar powered attic fan by Colin Laraway

Unlike many other models, the Natural Light Solar Powered Attic Fan has an adjustable Photo panel. My house is on a NE/SW line, which means that my roof slope is NW/SE, with the back being NW - not a good direction to catch the sun. However, with the adjustable panel, I was able to install the fan just below the ridge on the back (NW) side, but angle up the Photo panel to effectively face SE. Works fine so far, after 4 months.

Even in no sun, it does act as an over-sized passive vent, which is what most regular houses use anyway.
