i have ask befor but it was a while ago so i will ask again but this time with more detail. is there any way to run a hydro system with out the batteries the water source is great. lets say i have a 12v 2500 watts system for some lights. i have a charge controller and every thing is wired the way it should be. will i need a bigger DC genorator motor to keep up with inverter with no batteries.

Ok say I have a year round flowing water source to turn my hydro electric turbine do I still need batteries to run my system or can I take them out of the system.

#3 -  Renewable Energy > Technical Discussion: Other > how many amps
how many amps should my wind turbine motor produce. is there an ideal amp or does it matter. also if i do not have enough amps is there a way to increase them. for example enlarging the size of the output wires.

thanks for any help

thanks but just one question in the both position will the current run back in to the batteries or will it protect it like a diode does and keep the volts going only in one direction towards the inverter. oh yeah also what about a battery isolator would that work.

OK this is hard for me to explain but I'll try any way. i want two separate battery banks going to the same inverter but i don't want the banks to drain each other how can i stop that from happening

what are charge controllers used for. i am a little new. do they prevent the electricity from the battery going back intoto the motor or is that all wrong.

#7 -  Renewable Energy > RE General Discussion > looking for something to look at
i have learn a lot about alternative energy in the last 2 months. this is so much to conceder and i would hate to make a mistake and burn down the only house i own. so i was hoping i could find some one with a little experience in the alternative field and come take a look at a project first hand. so if there is any one near southern West Virginia that would invite me to take a look at there project and maybe give me some pointers it would be most kind. i am having a hard time visualising the process.

if i wire two 12v batteries in series to produce 24v at the end connection. do i need to produce 12v or 24v from my wind turbine to charge the batteries.

thank you for the help. a few more questions though. if i am powering my entire home using 6 24DC batteries and a 6000 watt 24VDC inverter what kind of DC motor would produce enough energy to charge my system. also how big should my blades on my wind tubine be

ok i would love to make a wind tubine but have no information on what type of dc motor produces electicity. I have heard from some sources that any permenent magnet dc motor will make juice.
I have also heard that a motor which produces a large voltage at a slow speed is the best for a wind turbine is this info true or have i been miss informed. If you have any clue on were to find the right info or even better were i can buy the right motor let me know
