How do I know the right watt of solar panels and charge controller to use on certain inverter?
The size of the solar array and batteries are generally based on the amount of power you need for your loads. If you know how much power you need to make, then we can calculate how much solar you need to make it, and how many batteries you need to store it. Sizing it by just the inverter is tricky, because we don’t know if the inverter is going to be at full power, or for how long. If you don’t know what your loads are, I suggest going to the loads list calculator to see how much power you use, https://www.altestore.com/store/calculators/load_calculator/ and then the off-grid calculator to see how many solar panels and batteries you need, and the amps your charge controllers need to handle https://www.altestore.com/store/calculators/off_grid_calculator/. From there, our technical sales reps can help you design the system. Also check out our videos on YouTube for much more info, https://www.youtube.com/user/AltEStore/videos .
