i had a c-40 that ran 24-7 for 10 years when i went to 24 volt i got a c-60 which has run 3 years no trouble i would highly recomend a meter that goes with these chargers they are very dependable dan tyler

I have the C60 and using it as a load controller for a water heater.So far you set it up and forget about it.You never have to worry about your batteries going over voltage and your inverter shutting off when your not home!Plus being 12/24 volt i can upgrade to a higer voltage system later on and lots of voltage set points so you can decide how you want your system to run the load

I'VE USED IT FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS SO FAR AND HAD NO PROBLEMS. IT DIVERTS TO A WATER HEATING ELEMENT (PURCHASED SEPERATLY AT altE) WHEN THE BATTERY BANK REACHES THE VOLTAGE THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO SET. IF YOU HAVE TO MAKE SETTING ADJUSTMENTS YOU MUST REMOVE THE FACE PLATE; BUT NO PROBLEM, JUST 4 SCREWS. ALSO, IF YOU NEED TO CHANGE THE VOLTAGE FROM THE PRE-SET VOLTAGE; A VERY SMALL PAIR OF PLIERS WILL BE USEFULL TO MOVE THE JUMPER. JUST PULL THE JUMPER OFF THE PRONGS AND MOVE TO THE PRONGS BY YOUR SYSTEM VOLTAGE AS LABELED. THE INSTRUCTION BOOK IS VERY CLEAR. AGAIN A GREAT PRODUCT AND YOU MIGHT CHECK OUT THE AVAIALABLE VOLTAGE AND AMP/HR METER (I BOUGHT THAT AT altE ALSO).

The classic PWM controller. Can work either as charge, diversion or load controller. Rugged! Reliable! Simple! Almost Foolproof.
Excellent detailed manual.
Pros: Highly Dependable!
Cons: No customization possible.
Inherent buzzing when PWM diverting.

Have had very good luck with Xantrex. Many folks in Baja use this device on solar systems and it is very popular. Good price performance. Easy setup and reliable operation.
