DC to AC Inverter/Charger

Magnum Energy MM-AE series inverters are an economical power conversion solution designed to provide dependable modified sine wave electricity in off grid systems. The MM1524AE can provide up to 1500W of continuous power, but can also be used in conjunction with a generator or any renewable energy source to charge a 24V, deep cycle battery bank.

Solar Charge Controller

Xantrex C Series PWM (Pulse Width Modulated) charge controllers automatically initiate a 3-stage battery charging cycle. Bulk, Absorption, and Float modes are used to ensure that voltage and current settings accurately match the batteries' actual state of charge. This means fast-as-possible charging and extended battery life. An auto equalize mode can be easily switched off when the controller is used with sealed batteries.

Batteries

Deka Solar batteries are engineered and tested to provide reliable, long-lasting back-up power for PV and renewable energy applications where the batteries will be charged/discharged on a daily basis. These sealed AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) batteries are spill proof and 100% maintenance free.

This home solar system includes (2) 12V, 92Ah batteries, which will be wired together for a 24V, 92Ah battery bank. Deep cycle batteries should not be discharged lower than 50%, so a battery bank of this size will provide approximately 420 Watt hours (Wh) of energy per day, for two days when fully charged. This is a rough estimate of capacity, actual capacity can change based on temperature, state of charge and the condition of the batteries. Additional batteries can be added to this system (either 2 or 4) to increase the capacity of the battery bank.
