Solsum ESL7 7 Watt, 12V DC Fluorescent Light Bulb - Cool White

best for fluctuating voltage

We had problems with other compact flourescents because our solar system is 22 years old and the electrician who wired our house put in 12 guage wiring (standard for 120 v) and not the 10 guage (at the time standard for solar 12 v) There was too much resistance in the wire to jumpstart the initial turning on of the light. BUT... these do it!!! and we have been able to keep our batteries happy in the gray of Vt's November drizzle AND keep us happy with our aging eyesight! When you turn on the light switch there is about a 5 second delay before it goes on and then the light just keeps getting brighter as it warms up. We are not sure if this is normal or is just because of our old system, but it doesn't matter because WE CAN SEE!!! We also got the 11 watt and love those, too.
