RGE400 flawless since 2005
We decided to go with gas refrigeration here 25 miles from the Washington Monument after reviewing the power interruptions we experienced, culminated by Hurricane Isabel in 2003. Our two Servel units arrived in early 2005, and by late spring, they were running and the electric one they replaced was sold. We were (and still are) amazed at how quiet they were. We were really pleased with the energy savings. While we do have to manually defrost about twice a year, and their smaller dimensions took a little getting used to, weve never looked back, and find them a wonderful appliance to have in our home. For years now, we do not worry about going away, and coming back to a load of spoiled food because the power went out. Life is good with Servel (now Dometic, I understand).
