Kyocera KC130 TM 130W 12V Solar Panel w J-BoxWrite a review

I have purchased 3 of these panels over the last year and a half. I have consistently generated 25% more power/panel,at solar noon on sunny days, than the manufacturer's specs would have suggested (7.39 amps/panel). It is unusual, in my experience, to get more than what you expect in a product! Who knows what I could get if I had a MPPT charge controller.

Late last year I placed an order for two of the KC130TM panels for our remote Virginia mountain cabin site. No power here except as provided by these two panels. They arrived on time and packaged well. I am very pleased with the product. Twice the power of the last two panels we purchased years ago at basically the same cost and size.
These are keeping our sat-uplink system online and allowing me to write this review!
We'll be getting more of these as we upgrade our system.

these are about the most effishant(watts per sq inchs)of the panels i considered size matters when you may have to ship or carry panels to a remote area. these are ups shipable and even fit into my dodge neon(2 panels) if i want to hilltop or rove with the ham gear.

I have been very satisfied with these panels. I have seen the rated output many times this winter(130w). The frame and j-box are constructed nicely. No complaints!

Just completed installation of a single 130 watt Kyrocera PV on my sailboat. System includes a Xantrex C-35 charge controller. After observing the battery monitor for a couple of days, the PV is performing superbly and meets all specifications. I'm very happy with entire experience with AES and their products. Now I'm looking forward to some serious cruising and not having to rely on shore power. Thanks for the great support and service!

I installed two of these on my sailboat with a Blue Sky Solar Boost 3024iL charge controller. The combination is great and has completely replaced running the diesel for an hour each morning and evening to charge the batteries.

The panels more than kept up with the fridge, autopilot, nav equipment, and lighting, and the system even went into
float
several times despite our higher-than-usual consumption. Solar has made cruising a lot more comfortable and far less energy-management-intensive.

I have 48 KC130 panels with an SMA Sunny Boy inverter. I have seen 40 kW produced in one day and average over 30 kW per day. The average should go up as we enter summer. Customer service was great and my installer loved the racks and J-boxes that made installation very simple.

Excellent, rugged product. I now have 14 of these guys and never had a problem with any of them. Well-packed and fast shipping too!

I purchased 3 panels for our sailboat prior to sailing from San Diego, CA to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Several electronic components failed in the harsh conditions at sea but our solar charging system worked perfectly. The panels are all mounted horizontally because it is not practical to tilt them towards the sun on a moving boat. We were seeing about .5 amps per panel within 2 hours of sunrise/sunset and the panels peaked around 6 amps each at high noon with full sun. Keep in mind that this trip was in early November with suboptimal panel angle. So over all I was very happy with the panels’ performance. The only minor complaint I have would be the pre chosen knockout hole in the electrical box. It was on one side and I would have preferred to knock out the hole that best lined up with the direction I was running the wire and not have to seal up the unused, pre-chosen knockout hole. So I don’t have experience with solar panels of another manufacture but I would not hesitate to highly recommend the Kyocera panels.

The KC130TM panel arrived, well-packaged and in good shape. It is well-constructed and met output voltage, current and power as specified...I will probably buy more. One discrepancy: The warranty page for KC series panels states 80% power guaranteed for 25 years. However, the KC130TM data sheet says 20 years. Hmmmm....

I started out with a small 10 watt solar panel and a 6 amp hour battery just to charge my cell phone and batteries and such. I then bought several batteries (marine) over the summer and this 130 watt panel with a charge controller to power my laptop when I worked from home. It ran my laptop pretty much all summer off of solar power. I just built the system little by little and hope to continue building and powering more and more off of my little solar setup. This panel was one of the lowest cost per watt and my setup shows above 12.8 volts even on cloudy days.
