Hudson, MA, March 30, 2007: Beginning in April, the Alternative Energy Store will offer public workshops on various renewable energy (RE) technologies at its headquarters in Hudson, Massachusetts. The 3- to 8-hour (1- to 2-day) workshops will cover topics from basics of RE systems to energy efficiency, to solar electric and wind power systems to solar air heating and solar water heating applications, among others. Trained professionals will teach all workshops.
The Alternative Energy Store, a 2006 Inc. 500 awarded company, aims to fulfill its motto, “Making Renewable Do-able,” by offering low-cost, high-quality educational opportunities on RE topics to a broad spectrum of the public.
We are very excited to see the launch of our new Learning Center this month” says Sascha Deri, one of Alternative Energy Store’s founders. “Until now, there were very few options for people in the northeastern United States to take in-depth classes and workshops on renewable energy systems. Our goal is to make renewable energy education more easily attainable to everyone in the public and enable as many people as possible to make informed decisions on what types of RE systems are right for them, how to safely install their own systems and to even become future RE system installers.”
The first workshop, ‘Renewable Energy Basics for Homes and Businesses’, will be held April 11th, 2007, at 6:30PM – 9:30PM. The course will provide an overview of the range of technologies and products available to homes and businesses to help them make use of RE and reduce their energy consumption and bills. Topics include steps in a home or small business energy audit, solar hot water and air, solar electricity, wind power, electricity basics, and tips on conserving energy and saving money. Attendees will learn what the most realistic and cost effective options are for their needs. The cost of this three-hour course is $50 per student. Further course and registration information is available at the Store’s website: www.altenergystore.com/workshops.
