The Xantrex PowerHub is a modified sine wave inverter/charger, capable of delivering backup power to your home, in emergency situations. You can provide emergency power to your refrigerator, lights, phone, or other critical needs. Batteries are not included, and will need to be purchased. You can charge the batteries with solar, wind, a generator, or the utility grid when it's up. When it senses the grid is down, it will automatically power anything connected to it, protecting you from power outages. This is a versatile unit, as you can hardwire it directly to your AC breaker box, and a second critical loads panel, to have it automatically provide power. Alternatively, you can plug in your key AC appliances to the unit when you lose power. The battery box that comes with the PowerHub can take up to two 100Ah sealed batteries. The additional FREE battery box, will take 2 additional batteries, making it scalable to provide up to 400 amp-hours of energy. How long will this battery power last? See the table below for examples of appliances you can can power. For example, the four batteries will power your refrigerator for the day!
