NEC Training - 6 NABCEP Credits:
2023 NEC PV and Energy Storage Workshop

We are pleased to also bring back the extra day of  National Electric Code update training!  The 2023 NEC becomes law first in Massachusetts on Jan 1, 2023, and it is likely that this is the first 2023 NEC workshop in a place where the NEC is adopted.

Even though this workshop covers the 2023 NEC, we will also compare different versions of the NEC, so this class is still good for those people who live in places where the 2023 NEC is not yet adopted.

We will cover solar PV and energy storage parts of the code. Sean White has just finished co-writing the 3rd edition of PV and the NEC, which is the 2023 NEC version of this book and includes energy storage, so he is very familiar with this topic.  We will mostly cover Article 690 PV Systems, 706 Energy Storage Systems and Article 705 Interconnections. Article 712 DC Microgrids no longer exists and is covered in Article 705.  Article 710 Stand-Alone systems is short and will be covered. We will look at how all these articles relate and take information from Chapters 1-4 of the NEC.  This class will be fun, and you will be able to ask questions.  This course will count for 6 NABCEP Credits.

NEC Training Day (Experienced Installers)

9:00am - 3:30pm - 2023 NEC PV and Energy Storage Workshop: Sean White - The 2014 IREC Master Trainer of the Year ******
The 2023 NEC becomes law first in Massachusetts on Jan 1, 2023, and it is likely that this is the first 2023 NEC workshop in a place where the NEC is adopted.

6 hours NABCEP Training.

Sean White
has been traveling the world full time teaching solar and energy storage classes for 15 years. Some of the places he has taught include the USA, China, Seychelles, Philippines, Mongolia, Africa, UAE, Oman, Qatar, Lebanon, Malaysia and Canada. Besides online training, Sean’s primary focus has been teaching week-long intensive “boot camp” courses to engineers, contractors, businesspeople, executives and others looking to refine their knowledge of solar and energy storage and for some to gain new knowledge in transitioning their old skills to a new renewable economy. He also presents day-long workshops at many conferences and has been a keynote speaker. Sean has a gift for bringing students together from different backgrounds and different knowledge levels and orchestrating a course where everyone learns more than expected and enjoys the life changing process of becoming solar and energy storage experts.

Sean White has also on a regular basis speaks at conferences, moderates panels and teaches workshops on codes and standards. He participates in the PV Industry Forum, which is an organization that comes up with new material for the National Electrical Code every 3 years.

Sean has authored various technical solar books:
Solar Photovoltaic Basics, 2nd Edition
Energy Storage Basics
Solar PV Engineering and Installation, 2nd Edition
PV and the NEC 2nd Edition (3rd edition at the publisher)
Solar PV Technical Sales

For 8 years, Sean White has been teaching on-demand, online solar courses 365 days per year at HeatSpring (www.heatspring.com/sean) where he has exceptionally high reviews averaging 9 out of 10 from satisfied students. His HeatSpring NABCEP PV Associate Exam pass rate is over 98%.  He prepares students for all NABCEP (www.nabcep.org) exams and is a NABCEP provider, which means that people taking his classes can qualify to take the NABCEP Associate exam by taking his NABCEP approved class and they can meet the education requirements for the NABCEP Certification Exams, such as the NABCEP PV Installation Professional (PVIP) Certification Exam. He contributed to the development of the NABCEP PV Installation Professional Job Task Analysis and has been a member of the NABCEP PV Installation Professional Technical Committee.

In 2014 Sean White was the proud recipient of the IREC Renewable Energy Trainer of the Year Award and is an IREC Certified Master Trainer. Sean was awarded the 2019 Global Green University Online Trainer of the Year Award, the 2019 APVIA Academic Contribution to Solar Energy Award in Shanghai and the 2011 Mike Holt 1st place instructor award. In 2020 Sean was awarded the SNEC Online Trainer of the Decade Award.

Many of Sean White’s thousands of students are working on projects around the world. There is always a project somewhere in the world operated by Sean’s students feeding energy back into the grid.
