The MNBE-8D2x2 from MidNite is a rain tight aluminum battery enclosure with locking door and a single shelf. The MNBE-8D2x2 is designed to hold (4) 8D batteries or similar sized models. This model comes with (1) 250 amp battery breaker, 2 of 4/0 12 inch cables and a single 36 inch 4/0 cable with white heat shrink and lugs all pre-assembled for interconnecting the batteries. It also has spaces for up to 4 MNDC panel mount breakers (1 to 100 amps available). Entire unit ships unassembled.
The MNBE enclosures are designed for sealed batteries. Sealed batteries do not require ventilation. When flooded batteries are used a spill tray must be provided (Not supplied) and ventilation of explosive gasses must be directed out the top through the 2” knockout. In this NEMA-3R version does not have a knockout on the top and must be provided as part of the installation. Powered ventilation may be required to provide proper ventilation.
