Morningstar's latest version of their high voltage MPPT solar charge controller is available now with a DC Transfer Switch. This feature is fantastic for systems that were just set up as grid-tied. Morningstar’s TriStar MPPT 600V Charge Controller can be used with higher voltage photovoltaic (PV) arrays, wind turbines or hydropower systems. The TS-MPPT-600V leverages Morningstar's TrakStar MPPT technology and 20 years of power electronics engineering excellence to deliver a PV controller with the widest PV input operating voltage range in the solar industry.

Morningstar’s advanced TrakStar MPPT technology helps to harvest the maximum energy from the solar array or wind turbine. The high-speed sweeping algorithm minimizes power loss and provides full visibility of the entire power curve from open circuit to battery voltage; ensuring the maximum power point is chosen under all ambient conditions.

Four versions of the 600V solar charge controller include: Standard; DC Disconnect Box included; DC Disconnect, and DC Transfer Switch included; DC Disonnect, DC Transfer Switch, and GFPD (Ground Fault Protection Device) included.

APPLICATIONS:

  • Off grid PV, Wind, or Hydro systems with input voltages greater than 150V, with long wire runs from the array to the controller
  • New installation grid-tie solar power systems with battery back-up
  • Retrofitting grid-tie solar power systems to include battery back-up without changing the PV array configuration (DC Coupling)
  • Supplemental charging for AC Coupled PV Systems
