#1 -  Renewable Energy > RE General Discussion > Sodium chloride usage to store 250 kwh/m3 of solar heat.
I have assembled a little system to store 250 kwh/m3 of solar heat.
Solar heat is stored through the heat of fusion of the salt.

A great lens heats up a liquid that evaporates, this vapour is used to melt the salt...
It's easy... but I have found a great isolation problem  called  "thermal irradiation" because our work temperature is too much high(about 800°C...,it's about 500°C when it irradiates in the vacuum...)!
Some materials against thermal irradiation?
One under the lens... and one external to the container...
