Am I a candidate for hydroelectric power?

I've got an artesian well next to my house that puts out 35 gpm.  I have it piped to a creek that is 70 yards from the house.  The creek averages about 18ft wide, 5 ft deep, but fluctuates between 1 ft deep to 10 ft deep.  It runs so fast that swimming it would be difficult.  What would be better, trying to utilize the well or the creek?

We need to know how high above the creek the artesian well is.

Having a better description of the creek is also necessary.  From where it enters your property to where it leaves the property, what is the amount of drop ?  How fast is fast? You need to measure the speed of the current. Soem idea of the volume of water that can be used is also required.
See:

for help in making the measurements.
