Need Direction

I'm very interested in starting a new career in the alternative energy field, but where do you go to school for that???
Anybody know of some good books and or other study aids that may help?
What about videos?
On-line university?

education

Hi Dave,

I would suggest looking at which Universities have Research Centers in the area which interests you, and doing some research on these universities.  If you are interested in Solar, I can give you my University Research Center link:
http://www.eren.doe.gov/RE/solar-universities.html

If you are interested in Magnetism and physics (one of my personal favorites) - try TX universities.  There is a great university in Florida that does superconductor studies.  And Georgia Tech is one of the few universities in the country with a good program on motors, as well as a photovoltaics research center.

Good Luck!
Cathy

Re: Need Direction

I'm in the same boat.  Out of a job and trying hard to jump into the RE market.  I do have a list picked up from Home Power's web site listing a whole range of Home Power type companies.  I discovered many of the e-mail addresses and links have changed (old list?) but it's a start.  E-mail me if you're still interested.

Iowa lakes community college just started a re class for wind turbine technology. Wind turbines are going to double in Iowa over the next year. It covers installation, management everything. go to www.google.com and search for wind turbine technology at iowa lakes community college in iowa.
