2 charge controllers

At this time I have 2 kyocera 50 watt panels hooked in parallel to one 20 amp charge controller
I also own a 15 watt panel that I could hook to a second 7 amp charge controller that I already own.

1... would it make sense to do this
2.... In doing this connection would it bring down the 50 watt panels charging ability and or wattage.
Everything would be connected to 4... 6 volt batteries that give me 450 amp hours. All panels are 12 volt
I'm just trying to maximize my charging amps to charge the batteries faster.
I will be adding more KC 50T panels in the future ( 1 a month)till I get to around 500 watts or better This stuff is addicting.
That is what the pocket book allows.
Thank You
Rene

Re: 2 charge controllers

you can put the 15w module with the others, or on the other charge controller.  If you choose to meet electric code, wires leaving the area of the modules should be in conduit.  also, each series string should have its own series fuse or series circuit breaker.  for kyocera 50w, should be 6a.  when multiple units are combined in parallel, a combiner box is used.

first a link to the module, then a link to a cabin package where you can see a schematic where modules are wired in parallel in a combiner.

click on the cabin picture after scrolling down for the schematic.

Re: 2 charge controllers

This may be a minor question but are the kyocero 50w and 50wT compatable the 50 w T is advetised as 17 volts 54 watts so are they compatable ?
