Hello, Im new to the alternative energy scene but im doing my best to get into it, Im currently in the works of building a cabin, and im intrested in powering it from the river near by with a banki turbine which im constructing myself. The part im confused with is what i want this turbine to power? Do i want a 12 volt charging system, like a alternator out of a car? or do i want to get a large electric motor and wire it as a generator? or should i just buy a generator? Im really not sure what my options are, I know the river runs very strong and im not exactly sure what kinda power it's gonna be capible of...but i guess it's up to me considering the river goes up a mountain. Anyway, any thoughts/ideas/advice would be greatly apreachaited, thank you for your time.
