New England-course on building generators
Does anyone know of a course or a place to learn how to build generators? I would like to actually build one for a wind application and build one for a hydro application (not to keep-just to learn the problems/issues associated with them). I would like to do this because I have ideas on new forms of power generation using different applications (not just wind or hydro). The problem is I need to learn how to design the generators to be most efficient with these potentially new forms and I'm tired of missing the boat.
For instance, there is a "new" wind power generation idea whereby power is generated from a row of several small wind turbines located on the roof line of small office bldgs. I had this idea years ago and was told that it was not practical. Well, I WANT TO LEARN HOW TO ANALYZE PRACTICALITY.
I live in New England but I would be interested in classes anywhere in the states and if some people want to get together to start this I would be game. I'm a patent expert and I can write the patents if we come up with anything novel! I'm not doing this just to make a buck. I have some very good ideas that just might provide us with a lot of clean, recovered power and it could save us from having to build more coal plants to produce electricity. If you have any advice I would also appreciate that. I've read many books but I find that I'm at the point that I need practical hands on experience now to go forward.
