#1 -  Renewable Energy > Technical Discussion: Other > Re: Noise and vibration from Air-X
I do own an Air-X however it's mounted to a pole, which in-turn is mounted to my roof. The building is in stone and the roof is concrete. The building is therfore very strong! The Air-X performs well for me, however at wind speeds of 39-46 miles/hr or Force 8 wind (gales), it vibrates the whole buiding.

Otherwise is fine except from the start-up whirling noise...

Hope it helps.

Regards
Brian

#2 -  Renewable Energy > Technical Discussion: Other > Re: Wiring panels together
If you connect them in series, yes they will produce 24v, BUT at only 20W power or just 1.67A.
You'll be wasting 82W from the 102W panel. I'm afraid I can't think of a way to connect your panels since they are not same power!

#6 -  Renewable Energy > Technical Discussion: Other > Calculating KWH
Hi

How is the total average KWH for a day from solar panels calculated?
I'm assuming... total panels power (4 x 80W) = 320W x no of sun hours (5 hours) = 1600KWH per day!

Am I correct?

Hi

What's the difference between Varistors and Surge Arrestors? It seems that both suppress high voltage spikes! Are both siutable for a PV array?

#9 -  Renewable Energy > Technical Discussion: Other > Re: Solar Panel Prices going up!
I've found this notification on another web site which sells solar panels and others alternative energy products, and in fact it's true because their prices are going up! I printed a price list last month and compared it to today and there was a price change!

Solar panels are not cheap and it's just that I don't won't to spend money now, that the prices are going up!

Brian

#10 -  Renewable Energy > Technical Discussion: Other > Solar Panel Prices going up!
Hi

Why are solar panels prices going up? I've read that it's due to raw material shortages!! I was expecting solar panels to become cheaper as more people use them!

Brian
