#2 - Renewable Energy > Technical Discussion: Other > Inverter sparking

For more than a year my house ran on solar power without any problem. I recently connected to the public electric grid. The system is set up with a manual transfer switch to go from the utility company to solar. When I turn on the inverter it flashes a hot spark even without any load. Can some one tell me what might be the problem. The Xantrex Charge Controller is reading 14.5 volts. Beverly
