Hartell HEH10

Can anyone tell me the optimum size solar panel for Hartell Heh 10 Brushless DC pump? It's for use in the northern UK - not known for it's blazing sunshine!

i think the typical module is 20w.  you can go to 30 or a little above, but you have to worry if you go too large that you may send hot water from storage into the cold collectors too early in the day and cool the water.

Thanks James,

I'm going to use it as a central heating circulation pump (woodburner heated system). I was worried whether or not excess voltage would damage the field windings if I went too large)

the other way that you could go is to use a 12v battery and a dc timer or put it on a manual switch.  in this case, the pump only sees battery voltage, and the module and charge controller take care of the battery.
