11-04-09\r\nThese are of a sound construction and high quality although one must remember they\'re fragile as well.\r\nThere is some confusion about exactly what the voltage of these modules are. The ID plate on the back side of my modules state they are 42v yet ALTE claims they are 32v. I tested a module in bright sunlight and seen a bit over 50volts so it really makes little difference either way. The MPPT controller will step down the voltage to that of my battery bank and that is where calculations are needed to avoid overloading the controller.Any voltage higher than the battery bank will be converted into extra amps. This is how the MPPT controller steps down the voltage, by increasing the amps. This is great because none of the energy from the array is wasted! For safety\'s sake I\'m going to use the info on my modules for determining how many I can have wired to each charge controller. It depends on the amp rating for your controller, so if you\'re going to build an off-grid system, buy the biggest unit you can find, for me it was the Outback Flexmax 80 MPPT controller, 80 meaning that many amps.\r\nAt present I can\'t say how well these modules will perform since I\'m still building my system but I will say I don\'t think I\'ll be disappointed!\r\nRandy Peck
