Great fr DTCs for larger systems
This sensor is used with many higher end DTCs to measure flow and temperature (with another temp sensor as well) to calculate BTUs generated. Im using mine with a Heliodyne DeltaT Pro for a small space heating system at my house. Its great to see how many BTUs are generated by the sun.
The flow sensor measures from 1.3GPM - 26.4GPM, perfect to plug into a larger solar hot water system used for space heating or small commercial systems. The unions make it very easy to connect into the system.
The temperature sensor is inside, so I recommend using a submersion sensor for the input to the heat exchanger sensor (this is used to measure the output), for a more accurate delta comparison. Using a strap on sensor seemed to read little low, thus under reporting the BTUs generated.
