Blue Sky SOLAR BOOST SB3024DI w/ Digital Display

Nice addition to my system

I have a small 24 volt system at my cabin with six 80-watt solar panels that I purchased used along with a PWM type solar charge controller. The system seemed to keep up with my power usage and would maintain the battery bank voltage between 24 and 25 volts, but never fully charged the batteries. I bought the SB3024DI MPPT solar charge controller based on the information I read on the Alternative Energy Store web site. Installation was easy and I immediately noticed a 20-25% increase in charging amperage. The change in charge controller type was enough to actually fully charge my batteries during periods when I'm not using a lot of power. The auto equalize function is nice in order to maintain the batteries in peak operating condition. My old unit also had this but it didn't do too much good since it never fully charged the batteries. If you don't have a battery bank monitor, I highly recommend getting the SB3024I without the digital display and purchase the IPN PRO Remote. The remote provides much more information than the digital display does. I found this out after I bought the SB3024DI with the digital display and later bought the IPN PRO Remote. Only one can be connected to the controller at any time so now my digital display is sitting in a box unused.
