Solar Pathfinder with Case, No Tripod review

This is the favorite of many old time solar professionals, and it does work. The quality of the product is below average, the outline of the obstructions is not always easy to view, and the dome is easily scratched; what you are paying for is the concept, since the product itself is only worth a very small fraction of the price. You cannot really operate it with one hand while holding on at the top of a ladder, as you can with the Suneye. Personally, I did not like using it, and that is probably because I was comparing it to the much more expensive Solmetric Suneye, which is far easier to use, and in my estimation, worth the very high price.\r\n\r\nI think that if you decide for the Pathfinder, the AltE store is the best place to buy, both in terms of price as well as service. If you have the money to spend, I would advise going for the Suneye. If the cost is a major consideration, the Pathfinder will do the job, and you will be in the company of many others who have used it over many years.
