Analog Amp Meter 0-30 Amp DC review

Factory Defect

Analog Amp Meter 0-30 Amp DC
I have two of these meters in usage for monitoring wind and solar charging currents. One meter works fine, but the other one had a loose terminal (lug that holds the meter shunt) inside the meter. I noticed that the meter was very warm to the touch and after removing it from the case, found that one terminal had burned a hole in the back of the case, and melted the plastic rear cover. A resistive connection occurred that caused extreme heating under 15 amp current load. It had been this way since installation, and apparently was a factory assembly defect. I tightened the internal set screw for the shunt and find that it still works, however.
