Steca Solsum8.8 8A 12/24V Charge Controller review

We installed a Solsum8.8 into a system in a remote camp, with 7 watts of panel and a big battery. It is used only occasionally, so it gets time to recharge between uses. The Solsum8.8 was easy to install, and you couldn't buy the parts to build a regulator that wouldn't work nearly as well for what this unit costs. The only down side we found was the English translation of the instructions is a little rough around the edges. They were originally written in German. On the plus side, they include a sufficient schematic to diagnose any trouble you might have with it.
