A Whisper 200 has been installed as part of a hybrid system (720 W PV and 1000 W micro-hydro) at a guest farm near Ceres, South Africa.

This turbine functioned very quietly.

"The Whisper 200 (1000 W) is designed to operate in a site with low to medium speed averages of 8 mph, 3.6 m/s, and greater. The 200 provides 200+ kWh per month, 3.4 kWh per day, in a 12 mph, 5.4m/s, average wind."

Its worthy to note that the 1000 W rated output is only achieved at wind speeds of around 26 mph, 11.6 m/s.

There must be an error somewhere, since 200+ kWh per month does not equal 3.4 kWh per day, rather 6.7+ kWh per day.

Also note that, as with all wind turbines, if the wind speed doubles, the turbine output increases 8 fold.

E.g if a 26 mph, 11.6 m/s, wind delivers 1000W, a 13 mph, 5.8 m/s, wind will only produce 125 W.
