Solar Converters PT 12/24-5A, 12/24V MPPT Charge Controlr review

I bought this unit from another solar on-line store.rnrnWhen first wired up, it worked fine. However, I happened to disconnect the battery being charged, then reconnected it---positive lead first, then the negative lead. I had a long discussion with Eric (who was very helpful) and decided to go with an ASC 12A shunt regulator. After having this bad experience with the Solar Converters MPPT unit, I was looking for something that was very rugged. I\'ll have to see how this one works, but I advise against purchasing the PT 12/24-5A unit.
