This August 2008 I purchased a Servel Gas Refrigerator RGE400 to match the 3 I already own. I was send the NEW Dometic RGE400 instead. It has the same dimensions, and keeps food cold.

Most all the web sites selling this RGE400 STILL show the photo of the old model which I love. It HAS HANDLES, and racks which can be taken out of the refrigerator easily.

The NEW Servel/Dometic RGE400 replacement HAS NO HANDLES, and has clips holding the racks in instead of indentations. I haven't been able to operate the clips even though I've tried screw drives, and pliers.

I greatly miss the handles and it takes twice the time to open this new refrigerator. I simply clean around the wire racks and don't attempt to get them out. It's just too difficult.

We live in an area accessible only by boat, then tractor in our items. It is too difficult to return this new Dometic. JUST BE FOREWARNED!!!! Also, because of the new design, the door CANNOT be adjusted to open from left or right as the older RGE400 could. It only can open on the right. TOO BAD!!!
