AeroVironment's USPC-2000 and USPC-5000 are versatile, high-performance variable speed motor controllers that are used for various solar powered pumping applications. They deliver up to 2000 and 5000 watts respectively directly from photovoltaic modules, including single or poly-crystalline silicon and thin-film arrays. A power conversion efficiency of 97% peak-power tracking and variable speed operations maximizes your system performance to get the most water to your installation. The largest demand for these products comes from ranchers and villages in remote areas in need of water. The inverter has also been used for other solar motor driven applications, including refrigeration/freezers, blowers, driving ice making machines and grain mills, and many other pumping applications (reverse osmosis, surface pumping, oil, etc.).

Water pumping is the most common use for the AeroVironment Universal Solar Pump Controller. It can operate nearly any standard AC motor up to 5 HP directly from a solar array. Less costly, locally made and serviceable pumps may be used. The USPC enables the water pumping system to use a generator or the utility grid for a backup. A solar water pumping system using the USPC controller should be considered if you need more water or more lift than a Grundfos solar electric pumping system can handle.
