Freeze Climate System Kits These kits are "Closed Loop," meaning the solar loop is isolated from the potable water by two walls of metal or copper called a "double walled" heat exchanger. The solar loop contains "Propylene Glycol" for freeze protection down to 54 degrees below zero F. Closed Loops are important to use in any area where temperatures can go below 38F on a regular basis. They are also important to consider in areas with poor water quality including areas with water that contains iron or heavy lime or other content that may plug up the collector or deteriorate the copper. No Soldering is needed to install the solar loop for these Closed Loop Systems. However the "Quad Rod" (QR4X) will require soldering to the tank. If a Mixing Valve is used or another tank is used, additional soldering will be required for the tank side. All Closed Loop Kits come with: 50' roll of .5" OD Soft Copper / 2 Compression Unions / Expansion Tank / Charging Valves/ Isolation Valve / Check Valve / All Connections / 25' Of Wire / Installation and Owners Manual. The Non-toxic Propylene Glycol is not included and can be purchase locally at Auto or RV stores
